Kiwi Animation is looking for Art director
duration - 6-12 Months
Job details: Kiwi Animation, sister company of Vox Populi (producing the Gemeaux Award winning TV show "Et Dieu crea Laflaque" http://www.laflaque.com/ ) is a brand new animation company in Montreal and will produce 20 X 28 min TV series in the up and coming months.
Responsibilities:
We're looking for an Art Director who understands photo-cut-out 2-D production and is a team player.
The Art Director is responsible for the overall look, creative direction, and visual consistency of the production in conjunction with the show Director.
Leads and mentors the design team to complete the style of the show.
Duties:
- Supervises and leads the art team and monitors art deliverables; encourages input from the art team, but makes the final decision with the Producer and Directors regarding look, mood, and quality of the art assets (BG, characters and props)
- Facilitates regular communication across departments to ensure successful implementation of designs with Rigging, Animation, VFX
- Maintains documentation standards for detailed design specifications and works closely with Production support staff to facilitate client art approvals
40 hour weekly
Qualifications Include:
Master FRENCH language (scripts and communications are in FRENCH)
Mastering Photoshop
Knowledge of Toon Boom Harmony,/Opus, and/or Flash an asset
Knowledge of MsOffice
Must be willing to relocate in Montreal.
MUST be Canadian AND Quebec resident,
- 5+ years of production related and industry experience, 3+ years in a similar Art Director/Leader role
- Demonstrable strong aesthetic and artistic abilities.
- BA/BFA Degree in Fine Arts or Commercial Arts field
