Buffalo State College is looking for Assistant Professor
duration - Indefinite
Job details: Oversee and teach specific skills-building courses including: introduction to architectural mechanical drafting and measured perspective drawings; digital media, software and theory including but not limited to Autodesk's ADT and Adobe CS; exploration in, application and synthesis of 2-D and 3-D elements and principles of design and color theory into interior design projects; methods of building sketch, study, and scale models; and general education. Engage in scholarly research, practice, or creative activity leading to professional growth and the advancement of the profession. Active participation in ongoing curricular and facility development.
REQUIRED Qualifications: M.F.A. in Interior Design, M.Arch, or terminal degree in related field. Strong record of scholarly/creative activity in target areas of the Description of Duties. Experience teaching in higher education. Effective communication skills. Commitment and ability to effectively work within a diverse population of students, faculty and staff.
PREFERRED Qualifications: NCIDQ certification or ability to earn certification within 6 months of hire. LEED certification. Evidence of research interest in lighting design, acoustic design and/or sustainable materials and Green buildings.
