Job Description
Visual Effects artist with MFA or equivalent, and a record of achievement in innovative research/creative work. Minimum five years teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate level is essential.
Requirements
In-depth practical and theoretical knowledge of contemporary visual effects technologies including a comprehensive knowledge of digital lighting, rendering principles, composite and live action animation integration. Understanding of motion capture technology, high resolution digital panoramic photography and virtual set creation.
Knowledge and ability to teach software packages such as Autodesk Maya, Softimage XSI, Shake, Stitcher, Boujou and Z-brush.
Ability to address multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary issues within the context of an internationally oriented program, as well as the impact of digital technology on narrative and non-objective animation is necessary. Willingness to work with industry, academia and the fine arts in developing the program is essential. Prior administrative experience
is also essential as the successful candidate will be required at some point to chair the division on a rotating basis.
