Mainframe Entertainment Inc. is looking for Post Production Supervisor
duration - Full-Time
Job details: Overall Responsibility:
To oversee and manage the post production process for all Rainmaker Animation shows, and ensure successful delivery of all materials.
Duties:
Resource & Financial Management:
- Liaise between producers and their post production needs
- Day to day leadership of Editorial staff including holding organized, weekly departmental meetings
- Communicate with Production and Technical Staff to best facilitate smooth and efficient, on-time final delivery
- Facilitate communication between Editorial Staff and outside post production services
- Plan technical editorial and post production direction for Mainframe
- Schedule Avid resources (Editors and Systems) based on production requirements
- Assess and budget all post production needs for features, dtv and tv series and specials
- Schedule and negotiate pricing for all post production services
- Assist with budgeting operating budgets throughout fiscal year
- Prepare and manage executive screenings and audience previews prior to actual release.
- Manage Machine Room/Media Room Operators (with IT).
- Schedule in-house resource allocation in Media Room i.e. Animatics, reels, dubs, tape stock etc. Coordinate with other Rainmaker divisions if additional resources are necessary
Process Management:
- Manage final assembly / colour correct / QC output.
- Manage audio dub sessions.
- Track all incoming and outgoing production deliverables as they relate to shows, tests and promos
- Specify client delivery & technical requirements
- Coordinate external Standards Conversions
- Final technical QC for all deliverables
- Ensure that staff maintains standard workflow processes
- Coordinate staff training & skill set expansion
- Complete staff annual reviews
- Recruit / interview staff
- Maintain knowledge of Industry
- Attend tradeshows
- Maintain industry contacts
- Manage special requirements i.e. Trailers, DVD extras, etc.
Qualifications:
- Must have post production supervisor experience in film, video and audio, preferably in computer graphics animation
- Minimum of four (5) years key role experience in a busy, fast paced Post Production environment
- Minimum of four (5) years Management/Leadership experience including a strong commitment to team mentoring, cross training and development
- Must have connections to both local and other major No American locations (e.g. LA)
- Must have knowledge of rates for local and other major No American locations
- Must possess expert, current knowledge of Audio/Visual Post Production workflows, process and procedures
- Must have strong financial and budgeting skills
- Must possess knowledge of technical specs for all deliverables to post/audio houses
- Must possess knowledge of Avid and Final Cut Pro systems
- Must possess Quality Control talent and experience with respect to Audio/Visual deliveries - must have a 'good eye' for picture and sound
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical and business information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Thrive in fast paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines
- Ability to motivate a team
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure; always maintains a positive attitude
