CNET Networks is looking for Technical Producer

Job details: mySimon is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Producer to join its close-knit, hard-working team. The Technical Producer will develop and maintain (X)HTML, CSS, and JavaScript presentation code for mySimon.com. Collaborating with engineers, designers, and editors, the Technical Producer will lead small to mid-sized (2-4 week) development projects as well as manage front end bugs. The Technical Producer will produce functional specifications and implement final, production-quality code directly within the site's Java code base. He or she will be expected to work with version control systems and setup his or her own development ports/environments.



Required Technical Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of Web Standards; the DOM; cross-browser & cross-platform (X)HTML, JavaScript and AJAX.
Expert, in-depth knowledge of CSS positioning, hierarchy and (X)HTML/CSS architecture.
Solid experience with J2EE frameworks (Struts, Spring, JSP, JSTL, and other MVC frameworks).
Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux.
Working knowledge of building systems.
Hands-on experience with application and web server configuration in a development environment.
Working knowledge of Agile and/or similar development methodologies.


Required Competencies:
Ability to work as part of a close-knit, cross-functional team with both technical and non-technical team members.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent attention to detail and a high-level of accountability.
Ability to generate functional specifications.
Ability to estimate development schedules from bug-level to mid-sized projects.
Ability to lead small to mid-sized projects to completion.
