Alfred State College is looking for Assistant Professor

Job details: Assistant Professor - Anticpated for Fall 2007. This is a teaching and applied research position. Teaching occurs in both lecture and applied studio environments requiring interpersonal skills in teaching and trouble shooting.
The successful candidate will be teaching 2D Computer Animation, Interactive Authoring, Interactive Media, and Interactive Design in the AAS - Computer Art and Design program.
Future coursework might include advanced Computer Arts (Photoshop, AfterEffects, Imageready), Computer Animation, Survey of Animation and Visual Effects, or Portfolio in the BS - Digital Media and Animation program which is currently pending SUNY and New York State Education Department approval.
In addition to instruction, he or she will be responsible for curriculum and studio development, student advisement, student recruitment,
committee involvement, and on-going professional scholarship.
Master of Fine Arts or a Master of Science with emphasis in Electronic Media. A portfolio of self and student work is required. Candidate must have experience with the following software: Adobe Photoshop, AfterEffects, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Director, Dreamweaver, and ImageReady.
The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Teaching experience is preferred. Knowledge of the history of animation, montage in print and film plus a knowledge of history and current concerns in net art is perferred. Experience with MAYA or other related software is a plus for future course consideration. Video, sound, and editing experience desired.
