Laika Inc. is looking for Production Accountant

Job details: Award winning animation studio, LAIKA Inc, based in Portland Oregon and owned by Phil Knight, co-founder and chairman of Nike is seeking a Production Accountant for a CG Animated Feature.
Laika is currently in production on several animated feature films including: Neil Gaiman's "Coraline" , written for the screen and directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and The Giant Peach); and "Jack & Ben", written and directed by Jorgen Klubien (Cars, Monsters Inc, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid). The company recently purchased the rights to one of the U.K.'s current best-selling children's novels, writer/illustrator Alan Snow's "Here Be Monsters".
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Production Accountant position plays an important role in the overall accountability of the project by providing budget and forecast information, project statements and cost analysis on a timely basis. The primary responsibilities include organizing, implementing, and performing all accounting activities as they relate to the assigned production.
The Production Accountant will be responsible to either perform or manage the following areas:
* Project Cost Reporting
* Project to date actuals
* Budget to actual comparisons
* Cash flow forecasts
* Cost to complete projections
* Corporate interface reports
* Accounts Payable
* Purchase order tracking
* Invoice payment
* Petty cash administration
* Vendor record maintenance
* Production Payroll
* Audit and summarize production time cards
* Coordinate bi-weekly payroll processing with corporate payroll
* Labor tracking by employee and task
Other Areas of Responsibility
* Assist in tracking production progress against established quotas
* Insure productions adherence to established corporate policies and procedures
* Maintain adequate historical financial related production records
* Prepare audit backup to support all show expenditures as needed
* Additional production related accounting functions as requested by Production Accounting Director
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
* 3 to 5 years of accounting experience (production accounting for long format and animation experience preferred)
* Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
* Computerized accounting and payroll system experience
* Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, and database systems
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred Abilities and Knowledge
* Knowledge of typical entertainment industry reporting
