NCsoft is looking for Lighting Artist

Job details: NCsoft Austin, the U.S. branch of NCsoft, the world's largest independent developer and publisher of online computer games is currently seeking a talented Lighting Artist to join the exciting Tabula Rasa team
The Lighting Artist will be responsible for the lighting of in-game environments using a highly technical set of proprietary tools. You must be able to pre-visualize mood and game play solutions from the standpoint of lighting. You will be expected to create lighting solutions that satisfy the sometimes competing demands of both game play and aesthetics. This person will be responsible for functioning independently on occasion and must possess great initiative and organization skills. The Lighting Artist must be a proven problem solver and a driven, passionate artist. Your efforts will be guided directly by the Art Director.
Job Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional game artist experience preferred w/ 4+ yrs as a lighting artist
- Minimum 2 shipped games
- Must have expertise in 3D StudioMax 7 and Photoshop CS
- Strong understanding of modern 3D hardware as it relates to art production and game engines
- Extensive experience in lighting 3D environments
- Strong, demonstrable abilities in traditional art
- Creative, proactive problem solver.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with Artists, Programmers, and especially Designers.
- Highly motivated individual with solid leadership and team skills
- Mature, positive individual with ability to approach art development with objectivity.
