Role/Purpose:
The Infosys homepage is Autodesk's on-line "daily news" the only publication seen on a daily basis by Autodesk employees, managers and executives worldwide. The Intranet Editor supports the Employee Communications team by serving as writer for various employee communications. Communications may include online news and feature articles, HR-focused communications, product launches, executive messages, organizational announcements and other important information. The Intranet Editor will interview subject matter experts, distill and untangle sometimes confusing information, reconcile the facts and draft communication in a clear, easy-to-understand format. The Intranet Editor will also be involved in various other Employee Communications projects as required.
Responsibilities:
- Manages content on the Infosys homepage including intra-day and daily refresh of headlines, Employee Profiles, insta-poll, special promotions, special announcements
- Develops content for the Infosys homepage
- Identifies and write stories of interest to employees
- Expands the features/functionality of the Infosys homepage
- Query employees about additional desired elements on the homepage (i.e. forums, threaded conversations, RSS feeds, employee blogs, etc.), and implement as feasible
- Explore the establishment of "section pages" (Breaking News, Features, CEO's Corner, etc.) and implement as feasible
- Along with tech support, strengthen the Infoprovider community (content managers and content providers for other Infosys sites)
- In collaboration with IT and Marketing, evolve Infosys' navigation and search capabilities
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years successful experience writing for a corporate intranet, or as a writer and/or editor with a general circulation newspaper, magazine, web site or other major publication
- Superior writing and editing skills
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, liberal arts or other writing discipline preferred
- Strong interviewing, research and journalistic skills
- Demonstrated ability to quickly synthesize and prioritize the elements of a message or story
- Expertise in basic Web publishing software
- Strength, speed, and creativity as a writer
- Strong influencing skills; a preference for working behind the scenes
- Good project management and collaboration skills
- Equanimity under pressure
- Unwavering respect for deadlines
- A lively sense of humor
- Must be able to execute a sample writing assignment
