Datascope Recruitment is looking for Lead Artist
Job details: Our client is a global developer of games for almost every major console. They?ve recently expanded their Canadian operations to a new studio in Downtown Toronto, and now consist of both CG and Software Development departments. Currently in production are several game titles including their first in-house production, a futuristic aerial combat racing game which will be a launch title for Sony's Play Station 3 console.
They are looking for experienced CG Artists to join their already talented team. This is a full-time, permanent position. The Lead CG Artists will work under the CG department manager to help oversee and work on the art portion of their games.
The main responsibilities will be both:
- Leadership - scheduling, progress checks, quality control, helping junior CG staff, etc.
and
- CG tasks - working on the games in areas such as modeling, animation, 2D, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years work experience in CG roles in the video game industry, with several years of leadership experience.
- XSI experience is preferred, but Maya and 3DS Max experience is accepted. Candidates must be willing to learn XSI quickly.
- Proficient in CG software such as After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop.
- A diploma or degree from a visual, interactive or fine arts program.
- Excellent artistic sense and able to sketch quick drawings with precision.
- Ability to create the appropriate color scheme and designs to match a given theme.
- Highly creative and motivated.
- Can respond easily to changes and cooperate with others.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Flexible and open to different challenges.
