This is a part-time faculty position in the School of Film/Video, Character Animation program beginning September 2007.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a respected national reputation as an artist with more than five years experience producing personal projects. Teaching experience at the college level preferred. Must have a strong background in animation and the visual arts.

Duties

Duties include teaching and advising beginning through advanced students in a culturally diverse student body as well as participating in departmental and collegial matters.

Through studying classic films, teach illustration through a variety of mediums (including pen and ink, gouache, water color, cut paper and charcoal) covering composition, lighting, and color through story transitions, costume design, and production set design.

Discuss character design in three dimensions covering balancing the character and construction of an armature including discussion of tools for creating details as well as epoxies and glues for supporting the sculpture.
