Its products are printed in more than 85 languages across 103 countries, and it is considered the largest publisher of children's books and magazines in the world.
Position Summary
This position will implement internal communications programs for Disney Publishing Worldwide (DPW), the world's largest publisher of children's books and magazines. Responsibilities include overseeing the company's vehicles for internal mass communications. Overall, the goal of the position is to drive business results and overall company growth by strengthening and expanding understanding of the corporation's worldwide operations, business performance and brands among employees. By achieving this goal, this position will contribute to the company's efforts that support employee engagement, productivity and retention. Also, the position will support DPW's external communications efforts as appropriate.
Essential Accountabilities
? Maximizes use of communications vehicles to support employee engagement, retention, and understanding of the company's key business strategies and priorities.
? Serves as project manager for internal communications events, including employee meetings; Develops and manages Powerpoint presentations and other communications tools for such events.
? Develops and directs initiatives that gather and analyze employee feedback on various issues; using the information to recommend new initiatives and direction for employee programs and communications.
? Implements measurement initiatives that continuously gauge effectiveness of employee communications programs to ensure that they support the corporation's business growth objectives.
Specific Activities
? Coordinates with internal teams on major communications initiatives.
? Directs overall editorial processes involving creation and distribution of senior level announcements.
? Utilizes measurement tools in gauging effectiveness of employee communications;
? Provides support on external communications activities as appropriate.
Knowledge and Experience
? 4-year college degree in communications, journalism or English.
? Three to five years of experience in a Corporate Communications department or public relations agency. Media relations skills and experience a plus.
? Demonstrated understanding and track record in creating and managing broad and effective employee communications initiatives for large corporations or other organizations.
? Knowledge of communications vehicles and how to use them effectively in disseminating information and direction to employees.
? Strong writing and presentation skills.
? Powerpoint and Publisher skills.
