Mainframe Entertainment Inc. is looking for Character Designer
Job details: Start: ASAP
Type: Fixed Term Contract
Responsibilities:
To work with the Producers and Art Director to design the series main and secondary characters, taking into account any previous designs, styles, directions, and guidance set down by the Producers. Ability to create compelling characters and characters scene sketches which can be modeled in 3D, and which serve the goals of the production?s story.
Duties:
- Have experience interfacing with designers, artists, and programmers..
- To utilize their design experience to design characters which hit the quality bar, and vision of the producer, Art Director, and the goals of the production.
- Self-management and reviewing one's own schedule and the schedule of peers is required, as is notifying production of any tasks that may be missing or improperly specified.
- Work with Art Director and Lead Character designer to create playable, enemy, and other NPC characters.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years in character designer position ? preferably on a feature length production
- BA/BFA Degree in Fine Arts or Commercial Arts Field. (Asset, not necessarily required.)
- A strong understanding of design and the issues inherent in creating compelling characters for a 3D CGI feature length production, worthy of a theatrical release.
- Must have strong 2-D character and creature design experience.
- Must have worked on at least 2 titles
- Experience in multimedia content, film and television work an asset.
- 3D design and modeling experience an asset.
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills.
- Proven abilities in managing projects from concept to completion.
