Responsibilities Include:
- Responsible for assisting in all external and internal web development
- Develop and maintain production specific web pages
- Develop front end dynamic modules based on requirements.
- Maintain current web tools
- Administrates bulletin boards, wiki, etc.
- Actively participate in the growth of the Production Technology Department
- Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the relevant fields
Duties Include:
- Assist in the development and maintenance (Python, Flash, JavaScript,HTML) of corporate and production-specific websites, under the direction of the Supervisor, Web Development
- Develop secure client service approval sites
- Develop and maintain internal web support pages
- Maintain quality of web development code and deliverables
- Evaluate and recommend relevant external web development software
- Attend weekly department meetings
- Maintain contacts with academia/industry to keep current on new research and competitor developments
- Read relevant journal/conference/technical articles
Requirements: Qualifications:
- 2+ years web development experience
- 2+ years of Graphic Design experience
- Skilled in Python, HTML, JavaScript, Photoshop, ImageReady, Flash, Director, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of web creation programs: Dreamweaver, BBedit, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of all web browsers: Netscape, Explorer, etc.
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux, Windows/NT, Mac OS, etc.
- Programming/scripting knowledge.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, and communication skills
- Ability to quickly respond to development requests
- Well versed in PHP and MySQL (2-3 years experience an asset)
- Experience with HTML and CSS without the use of a WYSIWYG editor
- Expert in programming with CSS, DHTML, JavaScript, HTML, and cross browser development.
- Understanding of XML, DOM, and other W3C standards.
- Working knowledge of scripting languages – Python, PHP
- Understanding of HTTP servers (Apache, etc) and how server side code gets processed on the client. Not afraid to dive into the code and is comfortable with conditionals and iterative logic.
- Ability to quickly iterate graphic designs/sketches using Photoshop and wireframe models on DHTML.
- Clean, systematic approach to UI development and implementation. Thinks like a programmer.
- Knowledge of AJAX
- Comfortable working closely with developers in small team environment.
