Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank is staffing for current and future projects, including "Tak and the Power of Juju". We're hiring Production staff, animators, and technical directors for the CG department. We're looking for great talent to work on a challenging and exciting show in a fun environment.

SUMMARY:
The Production Support Specialist provides systems, software and hardware support to the digital artists and production staff at Nickelodeon Animation Studios. Areas of responsibility include CG Animation, digital storyboarding, design, production management and render farm support.

The Production Support Specialist will be responsible for building, deploying and maintaining Windows and Mac OS X workstations. They will also install and troubleshoot production-related software (Maya, Photoshop, Filemaker Pro, etc.). The Support Specialist will be the primary support for the CG Animation Department, while also providing production support to other digital artists and production staff at the studio.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

First level of technical systems support for artists throughout the studio
Primary systems support contact for CG Department
Act as a Render Wrangler to:
 Be responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the render farm
 Monitor and troubleshoot render farm machines ? both in daily operation and future upgrades/changes
 Troubleshoot, fix and re-run failed render jobs
 Assist users with job submissions and failed jobs
 Respond to all render-related issues
 Work with production to forecast render resources
Assist in creating and maintaining production-related databases
Configure and optimize render submission software for specific needs of various shows
Create custom solutions for varied processes in Production (ie: Photoshop actions, automated system scripts for repetitive tasks, etc.)
Continually assess and estimate digital resource requirements for current and expected work loads
Communicate regularly with department supervisors and appropriate production staff about the status of operations, alert them to existing and potential challenges, and propose and implement solutions
Evaluate and make recommendations for future upgrades to hardware or software solutions

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong working knowledge of AutoDesk Maya, Adobe Creative Suite, FileMaker Pro a must
Thorough understanding of Animation process and pipeline required
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced production environment
Good time management skills, ability to multi-task
Desire to jump in and help in a wide variety of areas

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Computer Science degree or equivalent experience a must
Prior Windows and Mac OS X support experience required
2-3 years of previous systems administration experience preferred
