Assistant/Associate/Full Professor - Electronic/Video/Television Production
Required Qualifications: A minimum of five years professional experience in television news or a closely-related area as an operations manager, production manager, video photographer/editor, technician/editor or director at a broadcast or cable network or a top 100 station or its equivalent. A minimum of two years college-level teaching experience in broadcast production. Applicants must have the skills necessary to teach a variety of courses, possibly including beginning, intermediate and/or advanced television production techniques as well as the professional handling of digital HD camcorder and non-linear video editing. Applicants must have a thorough understanding of industry technology and the ability to provide guidance in the purchasing of equipment. Applicants must have a proven professional record of leadership and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a network of industry connections helpful to the program.
Preferred Qualifications: Some administrative or managerial experience is preferred.
Responsibilities & Requirements: The successful candidate will help shape and teach a track in broadcast journalism. The school's journalism program also has tracks in print and online journalism and seeks innovative approaches to skills convergence across all journalism disciplines. The successful applicant will play a key role in helping establish the journalism program and prepare it for eventual accreditation.
Special Notes: This is a tenure track position. Anticipated start date, Fall 2007. Applications received by May 1, 2007 will receive preference.
The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
