duration - Full-Time
Job details: Reports to: Manager, Software Development
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
* Building and maintaining creature rigs.
*Responsible for having a substantial role in developing the character pipeline.
*Supporting animators with rig issues and working with coders on character rig optimisation.
*Primary or secondary responsibilities for the technical requirements of specific productions
*Develop and maintain leading-edge proprietary tools scripts
*Assist in the development of television/direct-to-video, and film pipelines
*Actively participate in the growth of the Production Technology Department
*Provide training/tutorials to production staff
*Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the relevant fields
*Design, develop, and maintain proprietary scripts used in animation production
*Coordinate technical support staff and technical animators.
*Collaborate with software developers in fulfilling the needs of current and future productions
*Provide web developers with the appropriate internal support pages (documentation, tutorials)
* Evaluate and recommend relevant external plugins/scripts
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Degree/Diploma in Computing Science or related work experience.
*2+ years production experience
*Thorough knowledge of Maya.
*Experience with setting up animation rigs and working with animators
*Good understanding of automating processes for animation rigging.
*Good knowledge of MEL.
*Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
*Good artistic skills; demonstrable ability to make creative and aesthetic judgment calls
* Must be proactive
