Job details: WORK LOCATION :Ontario, California INTRODUCTION:The Ant Commandos, Inc. (TAC), a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative and patented game peripheral, is looking for a licensing manager to manage the in-and out-bound licensing for our next generation product lines. You will work with the cross-functional teams to manage the licensing of key products and/or categories to achieve sales and profit growth in all product areas.  DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

- Initiate, develop, and maintain solid relationships with a wide variety of licensors (typically brand/character) as well as licensees (technology manufacturers such as Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo).

- Manage, track, and report all licenses (in- and out-bound) for the product lines.

- Initiate, research, prepare/contribute, distribute, and maintain marketing and related presentation materials whether generalized or specifically designed for a licensor/ee.

- Monitor all assets for approvals; product design, packaging, marketing, etc.

- Create and maintain a license and product database for the product lines.

- Draft or review/comment deal terms, licenses, and related correspondence.

- Work very closely with the Product Manager to integrate licensed product into the product roadmap.

- Conduct marketing surveys about Licenses’ relevancy and collect brand information from the licensors

- Benchmark with comparable licenses

- Identifies, researches, solicits, develops and manages relationships and contracts with licensing partners that meet strategic objectives.

- Understands the needs of both Licensor and Licensee, keeping in consistent communication regarding product development timing, approvals, retail coordination, etc.

- Analyzes and recommends new licensing programs and opportunities.

- Manages and approves the licensee product concepts and products at all stages of development.

- Develops cross promotional marketing and promotional opportunities for partners.

- Researches and negotiates agreements with new business partners in assigned categories. Ensures execution of all contractual obligations, product and packaging development at all stages, awareness of all brand information and development, ongoing support and direction to licensee through frequent written, oral and on-site communication.

- Manages all licensing marketing efforts. Develops and streamlines marketing activity by developing common practices for all licensees and provides proactive marketing opportunities.

- Ensures that all licensed product marketing efforts are in line with the company brands and marketing efforts. This includes advertising, events, PR, giveaways, brochures and mailings.

- Responsible for communicating overall brand direction to Licensees.

- Works closely with the marketing/media planning team to leverage the best exposure.

- Understands contract requirements as they relate to marketing and advertising.

- Meets with Licensees to review available licensed opportunities and makes recommendations as to which licenses are viable for the property.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

- The Licensing Manager must have experience dealing with key video game platform vendors such as Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo.

- Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years experience in the same capacity. This experience must also include developing business plans and product plans for video game products.

- Deep understanding of consumer preference is a big plus.

 SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

- Three (3) to five (5) years consumer products licensing experience (including in- and out-bound licensing) – ideally video game peripheral or video game software.

- Experience in market research and preparing license/marketing presentations.

- Experience in preparing, presenting, and following up at toy, electronic, and technology trade shows and conferences.

- Experience working with Sales and Marketing to build partnerships, joint promotions, and gather competitive information.

- Experience working with a dynamic product development team(s) to translate license terms, negotiate outside a license with licensor/ee, and provide feedback for strategy and planning.

- Strong communication and analytical skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

- Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant experience.
