Job details:
The
Game Design Expert's role is to define and quality assure the content and delivery for Growing Games - our program offering in game design. You will be the key
visionary in the discipline, leader to a team of bright and committed program
instructors, mentor to students’ ongoing
projects. You will set standards and benchmarks for participants
and instructors to help them think design. You will develop
updates to the courseware and delivery methods with new mechanics
and trends in technology, market and player
behavior. Your goal will be to guide the team to produce outstanding
designs and simple games that can provide the player with an unique experience. You will be engaged as an independent
consultant in this position.
What
you will do:
• Design the content of the program.
• Optimize program delivery for successful application.
• Guide the team comprising participants and instructors
in the creation and delivery of fun to play designs and games.
• Provide creative direction and inspiration to achieve
creative game-play, environments, characters, AI, physics, feedback
and control interfaces
• Guide the program instructors to coordinate the design
team throughout the life of the projects within programs.
• Guide the development process in a creative and constructive
way.
• Keep on top of game-play, environment and feature trends
within the industry, and update program content and delivery with
the best and the latest.
What
you will bring:
·
Deep knowledge of the video game industry.
· Industry experience, in a Senior or Lead Designer role.
· At least 2 released console titles.
· Experience managing a design team.
· Good understanding of game play theory.
· Excellent conceptualization, story telling and narrative
development skills.
· Excellent creative and technical communications skills
(written and oral).
· Expertise with Photoshop, Maya and/or 3D Studio Max a
plus.
· Passion for teaching/mentoring.
