Job details:
The Senior Producer/Game Producer manages content development of online content and physical objects for a new LeapFrog patented product line aimed at middle school students. This position will manage multiple skus, with a focus on relationship management with an external developer, editorial, scheduling, budgeting and will be responsible for managing the relationship with one or more licensors and for hiring/oversight of staff and contract personnel throughout the development process. The producer will be the driving voice behind the product and be responsible to manage the development team as well as administer the project and evangelize all milestones to the Executive Producer.
Duties:
- Drives the product vision as determined by the Executive Producer and the team during all aspects of the development process, including: contracts, schedules, budgets, documentation, conceptualization, design, production, editorial, approvals, licensor coordination and kid testing.
- Designs and/or drives the direction of web game elements such as interface, page flow, navigation, help systems, specifications, educational content, interactive games and point systems.
- Manages writers, designers, artists, educational consultants, audio and voice talent, software engineers and others to lead development of creative and educational content from initiation to completion.
- Coordinates with back-end providers to stay on schedule and build to spec.
- Understands the user experience, organizes kid testing/usability testing for UI improvements, and acceptance testing accordingly.
- Reviews for the Executive Producer all development deliverables and drives all necessary changes.
- Contributes ideas that improve processes and content by improving quality, reducing costs and/or increasing profitability.
- May be responsible for hiring, management and professional growth of staff, such as a Producer or an Associate Producer.
- Participates in strategic planning for new product development.
Qualifications:
BA or MA in a related field
- 3+ years of successful experience producing online interactive content and/or offline interactive games
- 3+ years of experience working with licensors in game development
- A passion for creating high-quality, innovative web experiences that educate and entertain kids of all ages.
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to see the big picture, and how an online product may integrate with a retail product .
- Proven ability to work highly independently; requires little to no oversight.
- Strong creative and editorial skills for developing original and licensed products.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to make recommendations and decisions that have a positive impact on the products.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project.
