ARTIST, CONCEPT
_Responsibilities
- Assist in creating the visual development for a Next Generation 3D Action game.
- Work closely with the Art Director and Game Designer in establishing a new universe.
- Create high quality conceptual design drawings with an emphasis on exterior and interior environments, but also have skill in designing characters, creatures, weapons, vehicles, and other world objects in a broad range of styles.
- Will communicate ideas with small quick sketches to finished renderings and design layouts.
- Work with the entire development team in an energetic and creative environment.
_Qualifications
- Preferred 2 years working as Concept Artist in the game or film industry.
- Preferred 2 year 2D/3D art degree (or equivalent experience) with excellent fundamental art skills such as lighting, composition, scale, and color, as well as critique skills.
- Have an understanding of art and design vocabulary.
- Very strong illustration skills in a variety of media (pencil, ink, paint, digital, and/or finger painting, and macaroni art).
- Photoshop skills are required. Other 2D and 3D experience or software packages are a plus.
- Strong interest in video games.
- Ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
_Items to Include in Portfolio Submissions
- Please include your best environment designs as well as any character and creature designs, industrial designs, and organics.
- Submissions should cover your range of abilities, from thumbnail sketches to full color renderings.
- Game or film imagery, digital work in 2D or 3D models/renderings.
