Job details:
Summary of Position:
As part of the senior member of the Modeling team, create complex surface models and textures as assigned by the Modeling Supervisor. Also provide leadership and mentoring to the junior members through constant coaching and on-the-job training.
Responsibilities Include:
- Create desired surface look and feel for characters, props and environments as assigned by Modeling Supervisor.
- Assist/guide other modelers with their assignments
- Respond to questions and assist other Modelers
- Mentor and train new Modeler.
- Orient new employees to Rainmaker methods
- Provide back-up to Supervising Modeler
- Recommend training needs to the Supervisor and Producer
- Actively participate in meetings offering thoughts and ideas
- Ensure character models are being built within the modeling guideline
Qualifications Include:
- Advanced modeling and texture skills
- Advanced understanding of 3D space
- Minimum 3 years Modeling experience in Film, TV, Direct-to-DVD or gaming
- Good communication skills
- Demonstrable ability to orient and train
- Demonstrable ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Demonstrable ability to solve problems creatively
- Demonstrable ability to make creative/artistic/aesthetic judgment calls
- Strong art and design background (education or work experience)
- Must have one or more of the following skills: excellent character modeling skill, geometry, texture, skeleton, excellent world modeling skill, realistic and stylized set, lighting and colour theory

“Escape from Planet Earth,” is a CG-animated comedy feature about a prison break where the prison is actually Area 51, a mysterious government facility where the inmates are a rag-tag group of aliens from every corner of the universe.
