Description:

The CAD Designer / Drafter will work as a member of a team to prepare CAD drawings for electric transmission, substation and gas utility infrastructure design. Project work assignments will include layout and design for transmission lines, pipelines, substations, site plans, plan and section development of steel or reinforced concrete structures, drawing layout of project features, earthwork development showing cut and fill requirements, work using topographic data and digitized profiles. Additionally, he/she will be responsible to:

- Make preliminary designs according to general instructions and specifications

- Comply with both client-specific and R. W. Beck CAD Standards

- Communicate effectively with Lead CAD, Design Engineer and other CAD staff

Experience Required:

- A.A. degree or Certificate in Drafting and Computer Aided Design Applications

- 5 or more years progressive experience working in civil/electrical/mechanical disciplines

- 5 or more years progressive experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation

- Experience in layout, drafting, design, reference files, models (model/paper space), raster images, and pen tables

- Familiarity with 3D, Civil 3D, LDD preferred

- Must be a self-starter, be highly motivated, and a quick learner
