Pixar Animation Studios is an Academy Award®-winning computer animation studio with the technical, creative and production capabilities to develop computer-animated feature and short films with memorable characters and heartwarming stories that appeal to audiences of all ages.
Pixar has created seven of the most successful and beloved animated films of all time: Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles and Cars. The studio has won 20 Academy Awards® and its seven films have grossed more than $3.4 billion at the worldwide box office to date. The Northern California studio's next film release is Ratatouille (June 29, 2007).
Responsibilities
Specific Duties/Responsibilities:
- Working with other Designers, Art Directors, etc., determine the elements in the film that require specific graphic treatment.
- Working with both still and motion graphics, conceptualize, design and implement graphic elements consistent with the style and quality of the film.
- Research items, timelines, events, people, etc relevant to the period being covered in film to provide a high level of detail and authenticity.
- Provide art, design and graphic artistry to feature films and related projects.
- Plan and oversee motion and still graphics deliverables and ensure that timelines for delivery are met.
- Serve as general production artist as needed on related projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Skills:
- 3-5 years title design and graphics production experience within a film, commercial or games environment.
- Experience working in high-demand, high-volume production environment.
- Art Degree a plus, but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and After Effects.
- Ability to adapt and work in different styles.
- Demonstrated experience in graphic design, typography, logo & icon design and graphic illustration; 3D experience a definite plus.
- Adept at adapting existing graphic assets for integration into various media.
- Capable of real-time problem solving as it relates to design issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and set priorities in order to meet deadlines and achieve required creative specifications.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Must possess a strong sense of ownership, a disciplined approach to quality and an awareness of its affect on the intended audience.
Physical Requirements:
- Continuous use of standard office equipment and materials including computer, mouse, keyboards and phones.
- Frequent to sitting.
- Rare to minimal lifting required.
