At the moment we are looking for a
Technical
Artist (f/m)
Main Purpose of the Role:
As
a Technical Artist at EA Phenomic, you will provide generalist support to all
disciplines. Working closely with the project leads and directly with the
teams, you will develop both temporary and long term pipeline solutions. We are
looking for experienced, passionate team players, which will propel our titles
to success.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Solving of technical production issues, especially those related to
characters.
* Build basic to intermediate level of complexity character rigs; skins/
binds models to skeletons.
* Work with programming and tools teams to develop tools/ scripts/
plug-ins to streamline art processes.
* Communicate technical concepts.
* Provide training and support to users.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
* Strong technical knowledge of Maya 8+ rigging and animation tools.
* Able to standardise auto rigging scripts.
* Knowledge of animation principles and kinematics.
* Understanding an animator’s needs and requirements.
* Knowledge of Basic human and animal Anatomy is useful.
Experience Required:
* At least three years of experience as a Technical Artist or Character
TD.
* Experience writing complex MEL scripts.
* Phyton or C++ experience is desirable.
Behaviours/Competencies:
* Creative problem solver.
* Able to perform very well for different issues and in short time.
* Attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions.
* Team player.
* Good English.
* Genuine interest in playing games.
