duration - Full-Time
Job details:
Backbone is currently looking for a DS
Artist to create art for an assigned portion of an exciting project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create pixel level artwork on a small
scale for handheld video game systems;
- Work on other art tasks as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- A minimum of one year industry or
equivalent work experience. Some experience in a game production environment
(either through a mod community or actual work experience) a definite plus
- Good understanding of palette
restrictions, palette management, and palettization techniques
- Thorough understanding of the principles
of anti-aliasing
- Comprehensive Photoshop skills a
necessity
- Life drawing skills and other artwork
mediums a plus.
- Basic skills in Maya a plus
- Experience using a pixel-based paint
program a plus (ProMotion, D-Paint)
- Experience in user interface design for
video games, or a related field (e.g. web design)
- Ability to work effectively with minimal
levels of guidance
- Must be comfortable taking direction and
working in a team environment
- Positive attitude & solution-oriented
Applicants must show samples of their work
to be considered; please provide a PORTFOLIO that includes:
- Recent pixel work – enlarged for clarity
- must include color depth and image sizes. Pixel work should include
environments (tiled and/or non-tiled) and animated character sprites. UI
elements are acceptable.
- Some 3d work, low-poly or high poly (both
acceptable).
- Non-pixel related work – 2d artwork,
paintings, life drawing sketches, etc.
