A & E Television is looking for Freelance Library Assistant

A&E Television Networks (Including A&E, The History Channel, The Biography Channel, History International, History en Espanol, The Military History Channel and the Crime and Investigative Network) is interested in interviewing candidates for freelance positions available in the videotape library. Candidates must have a car, and be flexible regarding shift hours.
POSITION SUMMARY
The library assistant will research and service requests for editing sessions, including pulling corresponding videotape materials. They will prepare shipments between library locations and to vendors, and process and schedule orders for tape duplication. In addition, they will barcode all newly created air and protection tapes and media received from external suppliers, entering all appropriate information in the media library database. The candidate must be able to juggle multiple tasks within tight deadlines, and exhibit attention to detail and an excellent customer service attitude.
PRIMARY DUTIES1) Use the Windows based Media Library System (WinMLS) to accurately research requests for video tape from producers across divisions.2) Process all incoming and outgoing tape shipments between library locations and vendors.3) Pull all videotape materials housed in Stamford in time to meet edit sessions.4) Process orders through the media library system database. Follow up directly with clients on questions and delivery. 5) Work closely with duplication vendors to insure the timely and accurate processing of all dub orders.6) Enter new master materials into the WinMLS system, accurately and efficiently.7) Develop a thorough understanding of library policies and procedures. Provide customer service support to clients.9) Perform day to day library operating tasks. 10) Assist with library projects, tasks and incentives.11) Provide general support and back-up to other library personnel.
Education: BA
Specialized or technical skills/knowledge: Knowledge of television post production processes and videotape formats and general technical specifications a plus.
Kind and length of experience: Prefer minimum 1 year experience in a videotape library, post production or videotape facility.
