Hi everyone.

Attic Door Productions are currently searching for talented 3D Artists (Modelers and Animators).

We are working on a project called "The 13th Doll - The 7th Guest III", a fan-made sequel to the well-known puzzle adventures "The 7th Guest" and "The 11th Hour", which were released by Trilobyte between 1993-1995. We have been give the green light to pursue this 3rd installment of the series by a co-creator of the original, Rob Landeros, as long as the game is freeware.

The original game was a point and click adventure game set in the mansion of a mysterious toymaker, who invited 7 guests to dinner one evening; all of whom were never heard from again. Our game continues where the original story left off.
The game is fairly representational of the original, it is a 1st person adventure game with prerendered graphics, and a point and click interface. The bulk of the game is devoted to solving puzzles which unlock FMV sequences to unravel the story.

Target aim:
We aim to produce a high quality sequel to the original games. We hope to regenerate interest in the original games, as well as tell a good story. In doing so, we hope to establish a strong development team, and earn a reputation as an independent game company. We already have a decent amount of press coverage; see below.

Technology:
We are using Macromedia Director to program the game. We are developing the game on Windows systems. A WINE emulator will allow linux users to play, and a Mac version is anticipated
3d Studio Max and Alias Maya will be used for modeling the environment, and filmed actors will be blue screened over the models.
2d software such as Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop will be used to edit 2d images.

Talent needed:
We need 3D Modelers/Animators who either work with 3D Studio Max or Maya. We require you to model rooms of the mysterious mansion, including furniture and several objects. Some of the objects, such as clocks, telephones and the likes will also need to be animated. Furthermore, we need 3D models of the interiors of an old Asylum and of an abandoned toystore. Aside from this, there's still a good amount of puzzles left that need animated 3D visuals.

Compensation:
This game is an all volunteer project. No money is to exchange hands during the development of the game, however credit will be given to all who lend a hand in the game's development. Some of your work will also be published on our website and possibly on several other occasions. As stated above, we hope to build a solid team by the end of this project, and the major contributors will be asked to stay with the team for the next project, which will be a commercial game.

Team structure:
We currently have about 15 team members working in their spare time, including programmers, music composers/producers and 2D Artists. We also have a few 3D Artists working on some of the remaining models/locations, however, the current work is too much for them to pull off in a reasonable amount of time, which is why we're searching for additional members in that department.

Project Status:
We already passed the halfway mark several months ago and hope to release the game at some point in 2008.

Publicity & Press:
We have quite the buzz going so far - take a look:

Leaving a message in the "Join the Development Team" section of the forum can't hurt either, but isn't a necessity.
Apart from the information in the form, all we require is a sample of your previous work. Once you have joined the team, you will get full access to the members area of the forum.

Thanks to anyone who's interested in joining.
