SUBLIMINAL STUDIO in Rome, Italy, seeks experienced and skilled traditional Layout artists. (please visit our website for further information www.subliminalstudio.net)
Our teams will soon be hard at work on the pre-production of a new cartoon’s pilot. We are seeking traditional Layout artists for upcoming roles in February 2008 at our studio in Rome, Italy.
Layout artists stage every scene and framing through drawings. Prerequisite include a superior drawing ability, a mastery of human anatomy, perspective, pictorial composition, architectural rendering and an understanding of film and animation vocabulary.

Basic portfolio contents:
-Selection of layout drawings demonstrating a strong sense of staging, design, lighting and perspective. Include character drawings for the layouts, if possible and indicate if this work is from your own roughs or clean-ups from another artist’s work.
-Several pages of current life drawing from live subjects
-Sketchbooks with gesture-style drawings of people and animals in motion
-Some work based on imagination
-A few samples that display cartooning skills.
This is a freelance position, with a start date of February-March 2008. Candidate must be available to relocate in Rome for 2-3 months. Salary to be defined according to experience; travel and accommodation expenses will be covered.
