C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures located in downtown Toronto is looking for a Senior Character Designer. We are searching for fresh talent to join our team to work on our new TV series. It’s a cartoon sitcom, it’s edgy, it’s fast paced and it’s guaranteed to be uproariously funny; oh, and it’s in Flash. The style of the show hearkens the days of exceptional character design with elegant, yet simplistic locations. This character driven comedy will see our cast travel through numerous locations within their inner city neighborhood. The environment must convey the richness of their world yet compliment and enhance the characters though subtle separation of foregrounds and backgrounds, without introducing overt complexity.
The company was founded in 1994 and is one of Canada's leading digital visual effects and animation studios. Over a decade later, C.O.R.E. has successfully built three divisions: C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures, C.O.R.E. Toons and C.O.R.E. Feature Animation. Over the years, with the underlying philosophy that a studio designed by artists for artists fosters the best creative environment, C.O.R.E. has produced award-winning work for more than 55 Feature Films, 24 Television Series and 24 Movies of the Week.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design Flash and animation friendly characters and props consistent with show style
- Work within pipeline to ensure designs are received in a timely manner
- Design mouth charts for the character
- Understand and complete all revisions assigned by the supervisor and director
- Build and break characters and props, according to template and consistent with originally drawing
- Complete Director revisions, review and send for approval
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
· Must have intermediate Flash experience
· Knowledge of designing, building and breaking characters and props in Flash
· Some knowledge of animation is an asset
· Basic Photoshop
· Strong drawing skills
· Advanced knowledge of designing characters, props and locations
· Ability to adapt and adhere to series style and standards
· Must be comfortable with PC platforms running Windows
· Ability to work to deadlines
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
· Post grad diploma
· 3+ years professional experience, classical training an asset
· Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
