Starting Date: Immdiate Hire, duration - Permenant
Job details: ArenaNet is looking for a Project Manager with a passion for online games. The Project Manager will work with the project Producer, two additional Project Managers and support positions to manage the day-to-day game development process including department level scheduling, facilitating communication between department Leads and the Project Management Department, managing the content creation documentation process, identifying and managing high risk areas of production, and tracking and reporting asset and production schedule status across the project.
Project Manager A will focus on managing the outsourcing production process and pipelines but will also participate in the management of the internal production process and work across all departments as the project requires.
Requirements: • Manage the production process and pipeline with our external partners
• Manage the relevant components of the projects schedule, which includes:
Tasks identification, task estimates, task assignment, project tracking, status reporting, resource balancing
• Responsible for facilitating communication between departments and notifying parties of changes in scope and/or risks
• Work with the Project Producer to identify risk areas and strategize on contingency plans
• Responsible for reporting schedule variances to the appropriate parties
• Responsible for ensuring that necessary resources are available based on established needs
• Responsible for ensuring that all content creation documentation is assembled, published and updated as needed
• Ensure all community, marketing, QA and Localization and associated collateral requirements are appropriately scheduled and delivered
Qualifications:
• At least 2-4 years of project management experience
• Experience with outsourcing and/or working with offshore external development partners a plus but not required
• Demonstrated ability to:
Interpret design documents and pre-production materials to a clear picture of project scope and associated task breakdowns; history of widely disseminating all design information
Work with team members and Leads to ensure all tasks are identified, estimated, scheduled and tracked
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Interpret a project schedule and monitor the progress of individual tasks against that schedule
• Monitor change requests and determine when significant changes to project scope have occurred
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Remain focused, motivated and effective on multiple tasks until completion
• Intermediate knowledge of content creation, digital asset management, computer/game hardware, project status reporting, project management, task tracking, MS Office and MS project
• Proficiency with Maya, Photoshop and Perforce a plus but not required
• If coming from outside the game industry, new hires will be expected to learn and understand the basics of art and CG production processes
