Cinema 4D problems

Hello Everyone, I am very new to 3D and recently I was following a tutorial of making a typo using c4d.

I can't figure out how make the picture from weird looking to normal.
I don't know all the features properly so if any one helps me out with this problem I'll be very thankful.
