Poncho and Lefty Productions is looking for 3D Environment Artist - Maya
Starting Date: June 2011, duration - 5-7 months
Job details: Importing, prepping, organizing,and expanding existing Maya 3D environments and props.
Creating high quality 3D environment assets, texturing, and lighting when required.
* Help to maintain the vision of the project.
* Communicate deadlines and difficulties to your lead and art director.
* Test and proactively troubleshoot areas that are not working in the game demo/engine and help to fix them.
Requirements: Well versed in Maya
You will have experience modeling and texturing assets for a diverse visual range of environments. (e. g. including detailed buildings, vehicles, props, weapons, etc.) A solid grasp of form, color, and lighting techniques for both 2D and 3D art assets is essential. The environment artist must have skills in another art task as well -- illustration, modeling, texturing, animation, concept drawing -- and be well-versed in related tools --3DS Max, Maya, Photoshop, etc.
Candidates must be able to design and produce high quality models under tight time constraints and to art specification. The ideal candidate will have a combination of significant experience creating environments form a combination of urban/fantasy/realistic settings as well as a deep passion and understanding of MMOG’s and adult multimedia entertainment. Applicants must have an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge using Maya/Max and Photoshop. Knowledge of ZBrush and procedural geometry generation packages such as XFrog is desirable, as is knowledge of shader creation and techniques. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong artistic background, though not necessarily academic.
