Hello, I am new to 3D modeling, and am hoping to receive some guidance. I've begun creating models using Image Planes as a reference. I think that it makes modeling characters easy and intuitive, however, I do not know how to make my own Image Planes.
How do you guys go about making image planes?
Any incite provided would be much appreciated, thanks!

I use auto desk maya 2011. Also, in reference to my own question, I think Adobe Illustrator may do what I have in mind.
To get more specific, when designing a reference image, how do you ensure that all pictures (front, top, side) match each other in 3D?

If you want to make image plan to use in modelling, the best is using photoshop, because you can get the real resolution value of the image, copy it and then you can paste the value in Maya when make the size of the plan. Give it a try..
