3ds Autodesk max 2009, Direction Concern

Hi my name is Dylan, um I've been working on 3d modelling for the past couple days and I enjoy that I can bring a creation into a 3d world. However, I am questioning should I be specializing, example, should I specialize in animation, or um not quite sure of all terms. However, I am wondering what direction would be ideal to go for a artistic view on 3d modelling. Any help would be appreicated. Please and thx you!
