Hey,
Does anyone have any tips or tutorials for texturing large objects, with good detail?
I'm creating an open cut mine that is a cylindrical object with a radius of 500m so it's rather large...
Is there anyway in 3ds 2013 to create multiple unwraps on the one object?

Welcome to the 3d forum
If you mean that a 4k texture is too small for details needed you can use multiple textures via a composite map, each texture applied to different UV tiles.
