with the right tutorial, u can model simple things in max in a day. if you don't want to model it yourself, just find some free model in forever-project com or 3dmodelfree then put your logo on

most modeler i know would go for free 3d models like in forever-project or 3d total, then edit it themselves

depends on where u are, different country have different market size. but i guess the job scope is the same, modeler, animator, scriptor etc.

they are both the same actually, just for different need. i use both of them and love both of them.

max is not that hard actually. with the right tutorial you'll be able to do something nice in 2 weeks. really!

try build geometrical item first. it'll speed up your learning process. usually in 2 or 3 weeks you'll be able to create some nice 3ds. good luck

zbrush is the best. but some say mudbox is better especially for max user
