i really dont like the fact, that the nodes in the fxtree have shadows now since xsi 3.0. i know this is not the most important thing, but i'm somehow a interface fetishist. and i liked the flat nodes ...

Just select the Fcurve you want to offset in the Animatoin Editor and translate entire curve up or down until the object is in the correct first position. ;)

A simple way to do it:
1. Copy/Paste Animation on all your objects
2. Select the 2nd object and use Animation / Sequence / All parameters on selection and enter the desird offset.
3. Repeat for rest ...

Well there is the split edge tool.
With it activated middle click on an edge and it will cut an edge loop

You can set a single material to the cluster.
And you can also select the clusters quite quickly if they a grouped.

Cut (alt+c) and target weld (ctrl +shift+w) are the most used tools to refine the chamfering

Another "big" problem ... this lights doesnt illuminate the viewport...its all black

U can animate anything..but would be a good idea to readup on joints and the various technics for the stuff u want to do.
Try segment a box alot..and add some bones to it...and check out what happens
